Section of the summary, which reflects information about how to put education on resume, as a rule, does not cause special difficulties for candidates in its filling. But here you need to follow certain rules in order to avoid mistakes and to know how to put education on resume.

The sequence of listed schools

Most often the enumeration of graduated schools goes in reverse chronological order, as well as in the description of work experience. But you can retreat from this rule if you want to get a job in a specialty obtained in a previous educational institution.

You can divide the block “education” into two subsections – “Basic” and “Additional.” Inverse chronology will go inside each of them. But about what kind of education to tell in the first place, and about which in the second, will again depend on what position you are applying for. This option is relevant for those who do not work in a specialty obtained in a college or university, but has undergone retraining courses and is now working in a new field.

Additional education

In the section “Additional education” should include information about the seminars and trainings that you attended in the last 2 – 3 years. This will demonstrate to the employer that you follow the changes in the industry, systematically improve your skills, skill level. But it’s not worth overdoing it, if the knowledge gained during the courses is shamelessly outdated (most often found in programmers), or the topic of a resume is completely irrelevant (cutting and sewing are useless for a construction company accountant), then it makes no sense .

Form of study

Some job-sites offer applicants to indicate in the resume also the form of education: day, evening or correspondence. This information will not be superfluous, first of all, for students, since the employer needs to know in advance what schedule of work you should offer, how often to go to the session. Sometimes recruiters in the text of the vacancies themselves are asked to indicate the form of training, because for one reason or another they want to see graduates from full-time departments, or, on the contrary, those who immediately supported their knowledge with practice. In connection with the introduction of the Bologna education system, employers in vacancies began to indicate that they need not just specialists with higher education, but what level it should be, for example, only masters and specialists. We advise you to take this moment into account when making a resume.
